Trace heating for storage tanks
The primary purpose of a storage tank trace heating system, is to avoid and compensate for heat loss that certain liquids undergo during a production process.
Of utmost importance is that the fluid or product held in the tanks does not freeze, change viscosity, or harm the storage tank itself.

Installation
To install the heating cable to the body of the storage tank, several methods may be used, the two most common options are:
- Tethered to guides.
Two or more parallel guides are installed transversally on the side of the storage tank body, to hold the cable.
- Tethered to a mesh.
A polyethylene mesh is affixed to the side of the storage tank body, to which the cable is held.

Heating cable
For storage tank heat tracing projects, we recommend constant power parallel heating cable, model CTCS.
The parallel heating cable has a constant lineal wattage even when it is cut to required length.
Its principal feature is the heating wire which is wound in a spiral around the parallel conductor, insulated from the conducting wire except at contact points set at one metre intervals, alternating between each of the active conductors. In this way, the heating cable forms a series of elements running in parallel all fed by the same power cable which acts as the body.

Control and regulation
At Elementos Calefactores AS, we have different types of control and temperature regulating solutions, which are adaptable to all kinds of projects, and/or the needs of our customers:
- DPA: Control and regulation box to connect between 1 and 4 circuits, from 8A to 63A at 230V.
- DR 4000: Digital Thermometer/Thermostat.
- ETV - 1991- P: DIN/Omega rail electronic modular analogue thermostat.
