Installing AS electric radiant floor |

Introduction |
| |
Installing the Elementos Calefactores AS electric radiant floor is very simple.
Since every project is different, the following example, is a standard guide of the steps to follow in this type of installation. |

Connecting the parallel heating cable
Connection to mains:
Once the system is installed, the heating cable has to be connected to the mains. The connection should be fixed (without plugs or spurs), and should carried out by and authorised installer.
For the connection to the mains, take one end of the heating cable in the junction box and attach it to the mains supply using the heat shrink tubes, model DPFCTCS150-250.
End connection:
For the end connection, the heat shrink tubes model DPPCTCS150-250 are employed, following the steps described in the heating cable connection guide.

Connecting the thermostat
One of the main advantages of the ECAS electric radiant floor, is that it can be divided into sectors, promoting the rational use of heating, and reducing energy consumption.
Generally speaking, one thermostat is installed per room, except in very large rooms which require more than one circuit. The thermostats are installed at a height of 160 cm and the temperature set to no more than 26 or 28ºC (recommended).
To connect the circuit of the heating cable to the thermostat, we can choose between one of these two options: |

Precautions |
| |
| |
Here are some of the precautions to be taken to guarantee the correct installation of electric radiant floors.
- Check the heating cables, before and after covering them with mortar, (checking the continuity and insulation with a multimeter)
- Under no circumstances may the heating cables touch one another.
- Protect the cable against mechanical damage during the installation process and the covering process.
- Avoid damage to the heating cables while they are being covered with mortar, taking great care when using tools (shovels, pallets, picks, etch).
If necessary, pathways can be made with planks, raised on blocks, and taking all the necessary precautions not to damage the heating cable. |
| |
- In bathrooms and toilets, special care must be taken near drainage areas. The cable cannot be installed beneath the bathtub, basin, etc., as shown in the illustration.
| |
| |
- Follow these instructions carefully: always bear in mind that to fix installation errors will be very costly once the floor is finished.
